Restoring Earth
As more and more scientists have concluded, even if all of humanity
adopted every single Bright Green sustainability initiative, it
would be too little too late. No amount of reducing our carbon
footprint, driving hybrid cars, riding bicycles, recycling, or
eating organic food will be enough.
We are beyond the tipping point. This is the unspoken and
devastating truth of the times in which we live. If we are to
survive, our actions must become restorative—that is, we will need
to not only do no harm, but undo the harm we’ve done on a massive
and all-inclusive scale.
This is what we call “Restoring Earth” - and we do it so that
future generations may at least have a fighting chance for
survival.
Rewilding Humans
Rewilding is the process of finding our place in the web of life
where our existence enhances rather than destroys the ecosystems in
which we live. We know that this is possible because indigenous
peoples achieved this for tens of thousands of years before the
spread of civilization. The survival of future generations of
humans and other species is dependent on humanity’s successful
integration of this way of thinking and living.
It is our intention to bring about the re-wilding of the Fertile
Ground Community and it is our hope that we will do this in concert
with other human communities throughout the world.
Resisting Domination
Inherent in our intention to restore the earth and rewild humans,
we are also creating a “Culture of Resistance” to undermine the
dominant culture and its agents.
We encourage each person to find their own role in the resistance.
The Fertile Ground Community actively supports the above-ground
(legal) efforts of the resistance, and understands that others may
find their roles necessitate becoming part of an underground
resistance. For the safety and security of the community, one
agreement that all Fertile Ground members must sign onto is that
underground activities must occur without the participation,
knowledge or support of any community members.
